What is Andy von Paramus like-spontaneous, charismatic, versatile and sensitive to say the least. He is always on the watch for a new and exiting adventure that would allow him to fulfill his life’s mission, which still remains a mystery, even to him. However, he knows that it needs to be something that would not interfere with his favorite feature-being himself at all times and at any cost. Andy’s maxim is:
"Music has a tremendous influence on a human psyche. It originates in the innermost depths of our souls, allowing us to be flooded by emotions, which tend to stimulate, motivate, enliven, overwhelm, bewilder or even overpower us, therefore subordinating our daily behavior to its undeniable power."
Andy von Paramus had started his incredible journey into this world, while his mother was up on the stage conducting a choir. Naturally, ever since then, music, sound and Andy never parted ways. However, his professional music career begun at the tender age of 8, first by playing the piano, then drums, banjo and finally, during his collage years, his interests swayed toward the saxophone and electronic instruments. Nonetheless, it was during his teenage years, when young Andy vowed to become a DJ and play music which would stimulate and overpower his audiences, and so his voyage had began. During his high school years, his unique passion for the so called ‘black music’ of the 70’s and 80’s found him spinning the unknown, and for the most part rather difficult to ingest for the young polish teens, records of the popular American artists. Despite the popular back in those days trends for italo disco and commercial records, Andy’s domain was mostly funky, soul, R&B, acid jazz, rap and classical disco music from the New Continent.
Twice in his professional career, Paramus competed in nationwide DJ’s tournament of western Poland, winning respectively 2nd and then 1st place. His next move was a 2 year collaboration with a radio station ‘Radio Zachod’, where Paramus alongside DJ Honza hosted music auditions prepping beginning DJ’s and holding competitions for ‘the best mix’ by a beginning DJ ( 1st prizewinner of those was DJ Matush). That is also when his passion for house music (tribal, funky-groove, deep) originated. He also possesses a huge fascination for today’s technology and technicalities post pro audio.
During his collage years, Paramus left Poland and moved to America for a 7.5 years long stay. For the duration of his stay he was researching and studying sound engineering. As a result, in 1996, International Music Co.-a recording studio, was born. Now he was working with popular producers, artists and DJ’s; Dennis Williams, Alan Johnson, Mark Lipson, Eddie Fritz, Anthony Ferrera, Morgan Pettinato, DJ Art, DJ Richie Bryant et al. However, it was not all about fun and games; it was also a period that Paramus himself remembers as hard work, tons of sacrifices and plenty of learning. In 2000 he launches his recording studio in Poland, where along with DJ Matush, Paramus produces club hit ‘Latino Laif’. He also works and collaborates with many DJ’s and producers of house music: DJ Jazzek , DJ Adamus, DJ Matush, DJ WaWa, Karol XII and MB Valence, Groove Coctail, DJ Levy, DJ W, Mike Anthon, Dj Honza, Dj Haze, Cross River, Dj Asca, Pablo Rouve and many more great ‘masters of the trade’ the polish stage...
The year 2004 finds him organizing and partaking, along DJ Jazzek
and DJ Matush, few times "Clubbit" events for MTV Poland. In 2005,
once again he collaborates with DJ Jazzek, and together they invite to
